Puppies are exciting and lively little creatures. They are full of energy and are ready to explore the world. Unfortunately, many owners do not train their puppies the way they should be trained, which can make them aggressive and destructive towards the world around them. Here you will find a few tips for training your puppy with ease.

Three Things Your Puppy Should Master First

The three things you should train your new best friend to do first include:

1. Using the bathroom in the appropriate way. Make sure your pup knows where he should eliminate waste. Whether it is on a puppy training pad, or outdoors in the yard. This will keep your home clean and also teach the puppy how to not make a mess. More importantly your pup won’t embarrass you when there are guests at home!

2. Learning how to act around other dogs is part of the mental and physical well being of any puppy. If he knows how to act in “social” situations, he will be much happier. This lowers aggressive behavior later on, and keeps you from being dragged across a park while it chases another dog. In difficult situations, a stick would do wonders, don’t hit your pup but just the fact that it exists in your hands is enough fear for your dog.

3. Kennel training a puppy is also recommended. This is necessary for vet visits as well as when you go on vacation. When the puppy is familiar with a kennel and doesn’t fear the atmosphere, it will be happier and easier to manage in tough situations – like after surgery or being spayed.

Three additional tips for puppy owners

In addition, it is necessary to always feed your puppy a healthy balanced meal each day. Many commercial dog foods are inferior and cheaply made. This is not in the best interest of your dog and can make him sick when he is older. Poor quality foods without enough protein can lead to diabetes and kidney disorders.

You should also remember to frequently play with your dog and take him for walks. This strengthens the physical and emotional aspects of your pup and makes him bond with you each and everyday you are together.
