If you have a dog, it is your duty to ensure that your dog is always healthy and happy. It is important that you are aware of some healthy dog signs so that you know if your loving dog is in perfect health condition. Check out some good healthy signs for your dog.

  1. Coat: The coat of any dog reveals a lot about its health condition. If the dog is healthy the coat shall be soft, shiny and full. If there are wire coats it should be ideally springy and full of life. If you find that the coat is thinning then it is a sure sign of illness of the dog.
  2. Skin: Keep checking the skin of your dog time and again. It should be smooth without any signs of scales, redness, scabs, open sores and scales. Normal skin pigment might differ as per the color and breed of the dog. There are dogs which might have black, brown or pink spotted areas which are perfectly normal – you need to check that there are no additional marks beyond this. The healthy skin of your dog should be free from any kind of external parasite that includes fleas and ticks.
  3. Eyes: The eyes also help to reveal the health of a dog. If the eyes of the dog are bright and shiny, it means that your dog is health. The area just around the eyeball should always be pink. If this area appears to be pale, it means that there are some underlying problems present in the dog. Check out if there is any green, yellow or thick discharge from the eyes, which is a sign of unhealthy ness.
  4. The ears of your dog need to be clean without any kind of bloody or dark discharge. There shouldn’t also be any type of foul odor coming from the ears which can cause swelling redness in the ear.
  5. Mouth should also be checked. Gums of your dog should be ideally pink. If there is any type of paleness it shall mean anemia. If the gums are too much red or inflamed it is a sign of gingivitis or other disease.
