It is summertime and summer vacation in your daughter’s school will start soon. You must be thinking about ways to engage her in some fun activity so that she doesn’t get bored during her vacation. Moreover sharing activities with your daughter can strengthen the mother–daughter relationship.

To help, read on. There are many activities that you can share with your daughter such as watching TV, swimming, cooking, making craft etc. How about these:

·        Cooking provide lots of fun. Whatever the age of your daughter is, you can engage her in cooking. If she is a small child (below five) do not give her knife to cut anything. You can engage her some other way like for example if you are making salad, cut your vegetables yourself but give her to arrange them in a beautiful dish.  If she is older, let her cut the vegetables or fruits. You can stand by and see your teenage daughter as she makes her favorite dishes such as baked macaroni, sandwich, soups, noodles or pasta. These dishes are easy to make. Cooking with you will help to grow a sense of responsibility in your daughter and for both of you; it will no doubt be an enjoyable time.

·        Making craft with your daughter is really enjoyable thing. In the field, you may find out that she has more creative ideas than yours. You may watch programs together that teach craft on TV or you may attend craft classes that provide hundreds of craft ideas. You may make paper jewelry box to store your ornaments, or penholder to hold pen on your study table or make some card holder or pretty barrette with colorful ribbons. There are hundreds of craft ideas.

·        If your daughter is young, coloring together can be a fun activity. You can download free printable coloring pages and help her color them. You can then put it up in the wall or stick them on the fridge. Then there are many online kids’ games like dressing up dolls that are perfect for some mother daughter time.

·        Swimming is a good activity and provides lots of fun and frolic.   You can also take her shopping from time to time and have a great day out.
