Learning multiplication is an essential part of life. Some kids can learn it and remember it with ease while others struggle with the concept. So as parents, how can you help? There are many ways in which you can help your kids fight the battle against multiplication. By following these ways, you may even increase their enthusiasm towards multiplication, which in turn will boost the speed at which they will learn it.

1. One excellent way is playing some interactive games online. There is not much that kids love doing more then playing games. With the ever growing world of technology, games are an everyday activity for the younger generation. So why not use that to your advantage and show your kids some excellent multiplication games. There are sites that have some great exercises involving all aspects of mathematics. One of these of course is multiplication. These exercises are very helpful and are an excellent form of practice. There are games and instructional videos on multiplication available on these sites. These games are excellent and will make your child interested in multiplication. The instructional videos are very informative and straight forward. A great aspect of these websites is that you can have your child complete some pre-test sheets. Then, once they have played some games, watched some videos and completed exercises, they can retake this test and see how much they have improved.

2. Another great way to teach your kids multiplication is to involve it in every day life. If you can learn to apply it in day to day activities, your kid will learn it much quicker. This is because this type of learning appeals to a different part of the brain which helps to remember newly learnt things easily. A great trick is to stick a big bright poster that has the multiplication table on it on the back of the washroom door. This way, when they sit down on the pot with the door shut, there is not much else to do than read what is on the back of the door. Going to the washroom is a daily activity, and even if it is for a short amount of time, it will help speed up your child’s learning.

These are just a few examples that will help you boost your child’s multiplication skills. Perhaps by helping out, you may kick start a long term love of mathematics; but do not hold your breath on that one!
